The speaker at the meeting of Kendal Rotary Club on 1st October was one of their own members, Angie Biggs, who gave a presentation detailing the role of Rotary Peace Scholars.

There are only six universities worldwide offering Peace Fellowships on ‘Peace and Conflict Resolution (Australia, England, Japan, Sweden and Thailand and USA).  The Department of Peace Studies at Bradford is the largest in the world and offers several master’s degrees and is one of the most popular.

In just over a decade, the Rotary Peace Centers have trained more than 1,000 fellows for careers in peacebuilding. Many of them are serving as leaders at international organizations or have started their own foundations.
